Hornet Buzz

Week of May 18, 2026

From the Desk of Mrs. Alligood

Dear Hornet Families,
As we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on all we have accomplished together as a school family. This final week of school is filled with excitement, celebrations, memories, and well-deserved pride in the growth our students have shown throughout the year.

Our theme, “Lead with Love, Teach with Purpose,” has guided us in every classroom, hallway, and interaction this year. We have seen students lead with kindness, perseverance, and compassion, while our teachers and staff continued to teach with passion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to student success. Together, we created a school community where students felt supported, challenged, and loved.

To our teachers and staff, thank you for the countless hours, creativity, patience, and heart you pour into our students every single day. Your impact reaches far beyond academics, and our students are better because of you.

To our families, thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and trust throughout the school year. Your support at home and involvement at school make a tremendous difference, and we are grateful to walk alongside you in your child’s educational journey.

To our students, thank you for bringing joy, energy, curiosity, and laughter to our campus each day. We are so proud of all you have learned and accomplished this year. Keep leading with love wherever you go, and never stop learning with purpose.

Thank you for a wonderful school year and for making our school such a special place to learn and grow.

With gratitude,
Mrs. Alligood
Principal

Out of Field Notification

Hernando Elementary School is proud that all teachers and administrators who work with our students are certified by the State of Florida or other governing board. We appreciate the following teacher who has volunteered to teach a subject outside of their primary certification and are currently taking classes or an exam to obtain certification in the area they are teaching out of field.
