Hornet Buzz

Week of May 4, 2026

From the Desk of Mrs. Alligood

Dear Hornet Families,

Our students have worked hard all year long, and the testing over the next two week is their opportunity to show what they know. While testing can sometimes feel stressful, a strong routine at home can make a big difference in how students feel each day.

Here are a few simple ways you can support your child during testing:
🌙 Prioritize a Good Night’s Sleep
A consistent bedtime helps students feel rested, focused, and ready to think clearly.
🍎 Healthy Breakfast
Starting the day with a nutritious meal gives students the energy they need to stay engaged and do their best. Remember every student can get free breakfast in our cafeteria each morning! Who says you can't have two breakfasts?
Arrive On Time and Stay All Day
Being at school on time helps students begin the day calmly. Students who come in late will not be permitted to test with their class that day. Students who leave early during testing will not be able to return to their assessment.
📵Electronic and Other Items Reminder
Please remind your students that their cell phones must stay off and in their backpack or at home during testing.
💬 Encouragement Matters
Remind your child to take their time, read carefully, and simply do their best. Confidence goes a long way! Your reassurance helps reduce stress and builds your child’s confidence.
