𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬 - 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 & 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞
This morning, our school social workers, psychologists, school counselors, school social workers, school nurses and several district student services team members gathered for a powerful and honest roundtable conversation. Since the start of the school year in August, our district has faced difficult days — moments when schools were called to respond to the loss of a student or staff member.
Today’s discussion created space to reflect on those experiences, talk openly about what worked, what didn’t, and how we continue strengthening our response to support students and one another. Dr. Hebert encouraged meaningful dialogue, reminding everyone that being a Champion for Kids also means showing up for each other in the hardest moments.
We are incredibly grateful to Shaunda Burdette and her team at the Citrus County Education Foundation for making this morning possible. Their partnership helps ensure our student support teams have the space, resources, and encouragement they need to continue serving our schools with compassion and professionalism.  Thank you to the dedicated individuals who do this work every day — often quietly, always selflessly.  💛
