Hernando Elementary School is located at 2975 East Trailblazer Lane in Hernando, Florida and is part of the Citrus County School District. Situated on 35 beautifully wooded acres, the current Hernando Elementary School campus was constructed in 1983 and houses pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
The Old Hernando Elementary School, located at 2435 North Florida Avenue, first opened its doors to students in 1939. On May 4, 2001, The Old Hernando Elementary School was deemed worthy of preservation for its historical significance and added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Our mission is to provide students with strong academic foundations while also nurturing character that will serve them for their entire lives. We believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Tt is about developing lifelong skills, building positive relationships, and fostering a true love of discovery.
