It is an honor to serve as principal of a school community filled with dedicated teachers, staff, students, and families. At Hernando Elementary, we believe that success looks different for every child, and we are committed to helping each student discover and develop their unique talents and passions.
At Hernando Elementary, we are proud to provide students with strong academic foundations while creating opportunities that help them become well-rounded individuals. Learning extends far beyond the classroom walls. Students have opportunities to discover and express their unique talents through both the visual and performing arts: creating masterpieces in art class, performing through drama club, chorus, band, and music, and developing confidence and creativity along the way. They also build healthy habits, perseverance, and teamwork through our Runner’s Club and physical education programs. These experiences help students build confidence, character, and a lifelong love of learning.
A hallmark of our school community is our NEST (Nurturing Every Student Together) house system. Every student and staff member belongs to a NEST, creating meaningful connections across grade levels and fostering a culture of kindness, belonging, leadership, and school pride. Through NEST, students learn that they are part of something bigger than themselves and that together, we are stronger.
Family and community partnerships are essential to our success. We encourage families to stay connected through school events, communication, and conversations about learning. Consider joining our Parent Teacher Organization or School Advisory Committee to stay connected and support your student. By working together, we can ensure that every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
