Dear Hornet Families,

It’s hard to believe we have already completed our first quarter of the school year! As we begin Quarter 2, this is a wonderful opportunity for our Hornets to reflect on how far they have come, celebrate their accomplishments, and set new goals for the months ahead. Whether your child had a fantastic first quarter or faced some challenges, a new quarter means a fresh start and a new opportunity to shine!

As we begin this next chapter, I encourage families to take a few minutes to talk with your child about their first-quarter progress. Our teachers are continuing to work hard to help every student grow academically, and we want our students to understand that success comes from effort, perseverance, and a willingness to keep learning. Small steps forward can lead to big accomplishments!

A fresh start also applies to behavior! Our the Hornet Expectations remain at the heart of everything we do at HES. Quarter 2 is a chance for students to reset, make positive choices, strengthen friendships, follow school and classroom expectations, and take responsibility for their actions. We know that children are still learning and growing, and we will continue to guide, encourage, and support them along the way.

Families, thank you for being our partners in your child's education. When school and home work together, our students benefit! I am excited to see what our Hornets accomplish in Quarter 2 as we continue to put their learning, growth, kindness, and success in the spotlight.

With Hornet Pride,
Jerrica Alligood

Parent Partnership Survey

We are considering offering an optional Parent Partnership Series for families. This would give parents an opportunity to hear from school and community professionals, learn practical strategies, ask questions, and connect with other families who may be experiencing similar challenges.

We would love your input on whether this is something you would be interested in and what topics would be most helpful.

Important Reminder about Toys!

Reminder: toys are not permitted at school or on the bus. This includes needohs and other fidgets. When toys are brought to school, they get broken, they distract us from learning, and they cause disruptions between students. We ask you to please leave toys at home where they can be enjoyed in a positive manner.
