Hornet Buzz

Week of April 6, 2026

From the Desk of Mrs. Alligood

Dear Hornet Families,
We are excited to celebrate Purple Up! Day on April 15 as part of the Month of the Family. This special day gives us the opportunity to recognize and honor the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of military families.

We invite all students and staff to wear purple on Wednesday, April 15 to show our support. The color purple represents all branches of the military, combining each branch’s colors into one unified symbol of appreciation.
As a purple star district, Citrus County Schools is proud to support our military-connected students and families. Purple Up! Day is a simple but meaningful way for our school community to come together and show that we see, appreciate, and support our military families.

We hope you will join us in making this day special by encouraging your child to participate. Let’s fill our campus with purple and show our military families just how much they mean to us!

With gratitude,
Mrs. Alligood
Principal
